Laguna solon challenges Barangay and SK officials to prove their worth

Calamba City (9 December) -- Laguna 2nd District Representative Justin SB Chipeco dared newly-elected Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials to serve relentlessly and conscientiously, first and foremost, the people selflessly.
Chipeco shared his trade secret in serving the public. He said that during his second term as congressman, he wanted to surpass what he accomplished in his first term, and now that he is on his third term, he wanted to double time to exceed his achievements during the second term.
Referring to the SK members, Chipeco said, he have mixed feelings, happy seeing the new breed of public servants as hope of the future but sad on the proposed abolition of SK, challenging the youth to prove the doomsayers wrong in their view that SK has done its purpose thus the need to end its existence.
Chipeco was one of the keynote speakers during the mass oathtaking recently of newly-elected Barangay and SK officials in Calamba City. Others in attendance were Laguna Vice Gov. Caesar Perez, DILG Proivncial Director Lionel L. Dalope, Calamba City Mayor Severino Lajara, and city councilors Ruth M. Hernandez, Lian Aldabe, Peewee Platon-Perez, Jhonny Lazaro and Santi Atienza, city administrator, Lawyer Manuel P. Landrido, and the department heads of the city government.
Meanwhile DILG City Director Roseller H. Rizal presented the newly-elected Barangay and SK officials to Calamba City Mayor Joaquin M. Chipeco Jr. who administered the oath of office. (PIA Calabarzon) [top]
