PA recruiting 600 army officers

Davao City (12 August) -- The Philippine Army headquarters through the Army Personnel Management Center is recruiting six hundred (600) army officers (each for new 2LTs) from all over the Philippines for the year 2005.

PA Capt Ferdinance B. Rondina of the PA Army Recruitment Center (Mindanao) based in Camp Edilberto Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City said the Office was activated in January 11, 2005 primarily to cater and service the people of Mindanao with regards to recruitment of officers with the intention of lessening the burden of the applicants in spending so much money for transportation in going to Manila.

Capt Rondina said PA is recruiting 600 army officers from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao broken down as: Officer candidate course class 30 - 125 each; Officer candidate course class 31 - 125 each; Officer preparatory course class 52 - 100 each; Officer preparatory course class 53 - 100 each; Officer preparatory course class 54 - 100 each; and Combat Commissioned (for enlisted personnel) - 50 each.

The successful applicants will be commissioned as 2LT in the PA after their graduation from their military training.

AFPTAB examination for college graduate only is slated on August 20-23, 2005 in Cagayan de Oro City, at Hqs ARC - Mindanao, APMC, PA Processing area; and on August 25-28, 2005 in Davao City at Hqa TF Davao, 41D, PA Processing Area along Quimpo Boulevard, Ecoland, Davao City.

Pre-qualifying, screening and registration is now going on at the Army Recruitment Center for Mindanao located at Camp Evangelista or at Hqs TF Davao 41D, PA.

As requirements, applicants should present their original copy of transcript of records, birth certificate, college diploma, and 2x2 ID picture (colored, 1 copy each).

Those who qualify after initial screening will be given admission slip which should be presented to the Examiner Team prior to the conduct of the AFPTAB examination.

A series of examinations will be administered to applicants who has successfully passed the AFPTAB examination. These are the following;: Army Qualifying Examination, Special Written Examination, and the Physical Fit Test.
