104 families flee from flashfloods in Negros town

Negros Occ. (1 October) -- Heavy rains caused by Typhoon Hannah forced 104 families in Isablela, this province, to flee from their homes and move to evacuation centers.

Isabala Municipal Information Officer Lorenza Madriago said the municipal government has served a total of 350 persons in four different evacuation centers of the town as of October 1.

Areas affected by the flashfloods are Sitios Galo, Alegria and Nalipay in Brgy. 5- Poblacion, Sitio Panaquiao in Brgy. 1, Sitios Bakon and Su-ol in Brgy. Guintubdan, Sitios Calabnisan, San Pedro and Guinbun-an in Brgy. Rumirang.

Madrigao said Isabela Mayor Melchor Malabor has ordered emergency purchases of medicines, food and beddings to aid evacuees as well as the hospitalization of those who are sick. (PIA-LOL) [top]
