Antique PNP creates anti-corruption committee

San Jose, Antique (18 May) -- The Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO) has created an anti-corruption committee calledovincial Integrity Development Committee with the purpose of pursuing a credible and better service in maintaining peace and order.
The committee is composed of Psupt Marloe L Marfil, Deputy Provincial Director, as Chairman, Psupt Art June S Yotoko, Operations Officer, as Vice Chairman, Psi Norby R Escobar, Finance Officer while the stakeholders are represented by Father Edionne Febrero, for the Religious Sector, Ms Margie L. Gadian, of Philippine Information Agency for the Advocacy and a Resident Ombudsman for the Visayas.
In a meeting held on Friday, Pssupt Ruperto T Floro Jr, APPO Director, briefed the committee members of its task which is to assess and address the plans on fighting the irregularities and ill practices in the police organization.
"The committee would eventually examine, formulate or integrate, implement and monitor suited plans and programs in combating the roots of corruption in the different level of police organization," he added.
It was revealed in the discussions that the group will develop the Integrity Development Action Plan that would focus and introduce changes in the system of recruitment of law enforcers down to acquisitions of equipment, biddings and grievance mechanism of the PNP. Enhancement and strengthening of the moral values of police personnel as well as the personal and professional advancement of a police officer will be given attention by the team.
It was learned that the creation of the committee and formulation of action plan was the offshoot of the Integrated Transformation Program of the PNP which aims to resolve the long-time organizational and systemic dysfunctions, to improve the welfare of personnel and to strengthen the law enforcement capability of the police.
