With the theme, "Sa Istrakturang Accessible, Lahat ay Able", the celebration aimed to promote the accessibility of persons with disabilities [PWDs] towards barrier-free environment as stated in the constitution. The Department of Social Welfare and Development [DSWD] is observing the event every third week of July in coordination with the National Council on Disability Affair.

The event highlights was the granting of educational assistance to indigent PWD's and distribution of assistive devices to selected PWDs.

Vice Governor Pearl Angeli E. Pacada and Second District Board Member Danilo Asiaten handed the financial grants to 53 elementary students each amounting to P1,500, 37 high school students with P2,000 each and 2 college students with P3,000 each.

Twenty seven PWD's also accepted different assistive devices like wheel chairs, quadcane, walker and crutches. Another 80 students will be given educational assistance this coming week.

In a statement, Governor Victor Yap said he fully supported all PWD activities and also told to give them equal opportunities.
