Nat'l awareness campaign on realities of int'l migration, intermarriages set in MisOr, Bukidnon
Cagayan de Oro City (10 July) -- The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) will conduct its annual community education program (CEP) entitled "Pangingibang bansa:Handa ka na ba?" in the provinces of Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon on July 27-August 2.
The activity will be undertaken in Opol, Misamis Oriental (July 27-28); Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental (July 29-30); Malaybalay City, Bukidnon (July 30-August 1); and Valencia City, Bukidnon (August 1-2).
It seeks to raise public awareness on various issues concerning migration, intermarriages, and existing government policies and programs directed against illegal recruitment, documentation fraud, and human trafficking, among others.
CFO officers and representatives of other government agencies will conduct school symposia, pulong-pulong/dialogues with non-government organizations, religious leaders and members, local government units, community leaders and members, press briefings, and radio interviews.
