Butuan City police probes hit-and-run vehicle

Butuan City (July 10) -- Butuan City police are investigating the driver of an Isuzu truck van which sideswiped and instantly killed pedestrian Edgardo Villasica along the national highway in Barangay Libertad last July 8.
The driver was identified as Donatello Alejandre, resident of Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte. The truck he was driving was carrying five passengers and was heading towards the city proper. All the passengers were injured and rushed to Butuan Doctors Hospital for medical treatment.
The passengers were identified as Miamor Alejandre, 23, Jefdaren Alejandre, 1, both residents of Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte; Elizabeth May Namla, 17, single and resident of Emelia Compound, Butuan City; Roselo Jake Ayaon, 19, single and resident of Happy Homes, Barangay Ambago, Butuan City; and Junmar Doo.
Another pedestrian, Geovanie Roa, 22, was sideswiped and three nearby houses were also hit by the wayward truck.
Butuan City Police Station 3 is conducting further investigation of the accident.
Meanwhile, Butuan City Police Station 2 received a report that a female person was found lying dead at grassy portion situated at the Diversion Road from Ochoa Avenue to City Hall, this City on Tuesday (July 8) at 5:50 in the afternoon.
Station Commander PSINSP Inocencio Amora together with Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team led by PSUPT Alex Uy of Crime Laboratory Office 13 proceeded to the crime scene.
Said person was described as 4 feet and 5 inches tall, fair complexion, estimated 14 to 16 years of age, boyish haircut and halfly naked wearing white T-Shirt.
No sign of struggle found at the crime scene. The team believed that the corpse was dumped in the area.
Further follow-up investigation will seek to identify the victim and the perpetrators.
