Tangub City celebrates Ruby Jubilee

TANGUB City (12 February) -- This city will turn 40 on Feb 28, 2008. The city government headed by Mayor Jennifer Wee-Tan lined up activities to commemorate the occasion.
On the afternoon of Feb 15, 2008, the Sangguniang Kabataan Promenade and Disco will be held at Sinanduloy Cultural Center and Function Hall 1, respectively.
A folkdance and theater workshop is scheduled on February 19. Resource persons from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) will speak in this event.
Outputs of the theater and folk dance workshop will be shown at the city plaza on Feb 27.
A Department of Education-coordinat ed grand academic contest, participated in by high schools and elementary schools will be held on Feb 21.
The Governor Alfonso D. Tan College (GADTC) will celebrate its 24th Foundation Anniversary on Feb 22.
On the night of the following day (Saturday), Visayan singing artist Dulce Amor will hold a concert at the Sinanduloy Cultural Center.
Tune-up games among schools of Tangub, Ozamiz, and Oroquieta City divisions will be held on Feb 26 at the city plaza, followed by the English Festival at Sinanduloy Cultural Center in the afternoon.
The grand celebration will culminate on Feb 28. This will be started by a grand civic parade in the morning.
This will be followed by a repeat performance of the Sinanduloy Crystal Anniversary Show (the first performance was held on November 30, 2007) at the Sinanduloy Cultural Center.
After this, a medical/dental mission conducted by US-based Misamisnon doctors and dentists will follow.
A mass wedding will be held at the Function Hall 1.
