Ifugao DedEd inaugurates library hub

Lagawe, Ifugao (7 July) -- As a way of eliminating ignorance that will eventually eradicate poverty, the Department of Education and Culture here inaugurated the Ifugao Division Library Hub last July 3.

DepEd Undersecretary Teodosio Sangil Jr., said that we should encourage our young to read books as he expressed appreciation the support of Ifugao leaders to the development of education.

On the other hand, Congressman Solomon Chungalao said that aside form the province's need for more teachers, the school premises all over the province should be fenced in order to safeguard the buildings from being destroyed.

According to Chungalao, the school buildings are being used by the community to tie their animals and it is there were children play during vacation period leading to the destruction of the school properties. "With the good quality of education here, we look forward for the province to be extricated from the bondage of poverty and ignorance," Chungalao said.

Acting on the request of the province for more teachers, Deped Regional Director Benito Tumamao said that there will be more teacher items to be given here.

Meanwhile, Gov. Teddy Baguilat turned over computers with internet to all the district offices here.

"What makes Ifugao truly progressive is through educationů. We support the education program of the province because I believe that it helps in the development of the community and province," Baguilat said.

Supt. Estela Carino thanked everybody for all their support in the education program of the government. "Truly we want to thank all the stakeholders such as provincial government and Congressman Chungalao for all the assistance they extended to DEPED," Carino said. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
