Ifugao PNP undergo simplified close quarter battle

Lagawe, Ifugao (7 July) -- To improve marksmanship on simplified close quarter battle among men in uniform here, the Provincial Police Office conducted a one day activity at the PPO compound here.
Provincial Director PS/Supt Joseph Adnol said that this will enhance the skills of the policemen in using the long barrel firearms. "This is one way of testing the skills of our men in using the M16 rifle and stability under pressure," he said.
"Lectures on marksmanship range, safety procedures and firearms handling were conducted in the morning before conducting the basic constant shooting and zeroing of firearms so they can see sight alignment of their firearms," Adnol said.
The policemen from all the 11 municipalities here participated in the individual competition on sniping, standing, hip shooting and assault and the team competition.
The policemen who were clustered into groups said they find this contest enjoyable and at the same time gave them some insights such as teamwork, presence of mind preparedness, and the importance of being organized.
Group one composed of Asipulo, Lamut and Kiangan won the first place in the team competition; Second was Group 2 - Hingyon, Banaue and Lagawe; Third is group 4-Tinoc, Hungduan and Mobile Group, and fourth place is group 3-Mayoyao, A.Lista and Aguinaldo. (PIA-Ifugao) [top]
