President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo lauded today the Caraga Conference for Peace and Development (CCPD) in its effort to obtain peace and development in the entire region during its first anniversary celebration held in one of the local convention centers here.
The President thanked the stakeholders for the resolution and commitment crafted to ensure peace and security in the entire region. "Kaninyo nga mga nisalmot niini'ng Caraga Conference for Peace and Development, daghang salamat sa resolution ug saad ninyo nga nagsunod sa inyong tema nga 'Advancing genuine peace and holistic development for the security of local communities.' (To all participants of the Caraga Conference for Peace and Development, thank you very much for the resolution and commitments following your theme 'Advancing genuine peace and holistic development for the security of local communities), the President said.
The President also lauded Butuan Bishop Juan de Dios Pueblos on his commitment and leadership in his effort to maintain peace and development in the entire region. 'Sa tan-aw nato, tungod sa liderato ni Bishop Pueblos, ang labing epektibo sa pagtubag sa mga problema sa seguridad, wala'y lain kung dili ang kooperasyon sa local nga komunidad ug kauban usab sa mga pamunuang local sa tibuok rehiyon sa Caraga" (As we see, through the leadership of Bishop Pueblos, the most effective way in solving security problems is through the cooperation of local communities and the local officials of the entire Caraga region), she said.
With the CCPD's crafted preamble as presented by Bishop Pueblos earlier in the program, the President is optimistic that peace and development will be sustained in Caraga Region.
It was learned from Bishop Pueblos that the preamble he presented earlier to the President was the output of the workshop conducted yesterday, October 16, 2007 during the first day of the Local Peace and Security Assembly. (PIA-13) [top]
