Lanao Norte's MIRIDP completion on schedule

Tubod, Lanao Del Norte (24 March) -- It was the third site visit made by representatives from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), HANJIN Construction company, Oriental Consultants and Lanao del Norte provincial government for year 2010.

With already 84% over-all completion, the biggest infrastructure project in the province remains on schedule for its June, 2010 full completion target.

"We are very pleased that HANJIN responded well to the call of our funding agency (JICA) to speed up their construction to beat the deadline," said Dennis Aguipo (MIRIDP-PMO Project Director).

The inspection group visited Segment 3 (situated in Kauswagan, Delabayan and Munai), Segment 2 (located in Linamon, Matungao and Balo-i), and Segment 1 (covering part of Balo-I, Tagoloan and Fatima).

The latest inspection team were composed of Flery Chan (Senior Project Officer JICA), Nagaishi Masafumi (Senior Representative JICA), Yamamoto Masashi (Mindanao Representative JICA), Kazuyoshi Saito (Project Manager - Oriental Consultant), Engr. Oh (Project Manager HANJIN Construction), Engr. Dennis Aguipo (MIRIDP-PMO Project Director), and Engr. Juliet Amas (MIRIDP Acting Project Manager).

"All the major components are already finished, now only a small portion of the road network, drainage, and slope protection remains to be completed by the contractor," commented Flery Chan of JICA.

The completion of the Metro Iligan Regional Infrastructure Development Project (MIRIDP) is set to catalyze the economic development of the municipalities covered by its implementation especially the interior towns of Lanao del Norte.

Also present during the site visitations were Globen Catubigan (Provincial Architect), Ruth Rudinas and Adela Ancheta (MIRIDP representatives), Amelee Duyog (O.C. technical representative), Rafael Soro (O.C. Project Coordinator), Vincent Labial (Information Officer), and Marilyn Ballesteros (MIRIDP Engineer). (VNL/PIO-LDN) [top]
