Emano promotes Kagay-an Resort as affordable resort
Cagayan de Oro City (12 September) -- City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano is bent on promoting the Kagay-an Resort in sitio Taguanao, barangay Indahag as a major tourist attraction not only for tourists coming from different parts of the country but also for the city residents as well.
Emano said that while the redevelopment of the Kagay-an Resort is meant to boost the city’s tourism potential, it must also be a accessible even for the low-income families in the city.
“We are spending people’s money for the various development projects in the city so these developments must be enjoyed first and foremost by the people in the city,” Emano pointed out.
Early this month, Emano appointed Paulita Agnes Roa as resort manager and Juliet Campbell as assistant resort manager to ensure the effective management of the city government owned resort.
The Kagay-an Resort opens at 7:00 o’clock in the morning to 6:00 o’clock in the evening and imposes an entrance fee of P5.00 for guests 8 years old and above and P2.00 for children seven years old and below.
The city government-owned resort boasts of a 1,900 square meters swimming pool for adults and another 1,100 square meters kiddie pool plus newly built function rooms, cottages and picnic huts.
Initially, the resort is open on Saturdays and Sundays while the resort management is still finalizing a system that would ensure the safety and protection of the resort goers.
Meanwhile, Emano is pleased with the heavy turnout of city residents who trooped to the Kagay-an Resort during its soft opening last Saturday.
