PRO-5 new set of officers take post

Legazpi City (6 February) -- Police Sr. Sup't Roberto Timog Bondoc, officer-in-charge of the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO5) presided the simple turn-over of command of senior police officers who assumed their respective new positions effective February 1, 2008.

This change of command activity held at Camp Simeon Ola here, last February 1, was aimed to infuse new blood in the PNP organization, and the opportunity for other officers to occupy positions of higher responsibilities and as a vehicle to further harness their potentials in going up the ladder of their career and professional development.

The police officers in Bicol given new assignments include: PSSupt Joel O. Regondola, from Sorsogon PPO to Regional Headquarters Support Group; PSSupt Edgar L. Layon, from Reg'l Police Community Relations Division to Regional Operations and Plans Division; PSSupt Henry S. RaƱola from Reg'I Investigation and Detective Management Division to Sorsogon PPO; PSSupt Reuben Theodorre Sindac from Reg'l Operations and Plans Division to Masbate PPO; PSSupt Raul P. Hebrio, from Masbate PPO to Reg'l Police Community Relations Division; PSupt Rodegelio Guerrero, from Sorsogon PPO to Reg'l Investigation and Detective Management Division; Psupt Adan Magdasoc, from Sorsogon PPO to Reg'l Headquarters Support Group.

Sr. Supt. Bondoc challenged the newly-installed officers to spearhead their respective units of assignment with enthusiasm and vision, guide their men to be Godly PNP personnel, so as to effectively respond to the multifarious challenges that confront the PNP as an organization mandated to serve and protect the people, and be the spring board for a peaceful and prosperous region.

Meanwhile, the Naga City police station was upgraded to a police district by Camp Crame last month.

Sr. Supt. Bondoc said that PNP Director-General Avelino Razon, Jr. issued General Order No. 08-01 upgrading the Naga city police office as "Type C" police district under direct administrative control of the Bicol PNP regional director based in Camp Simeon Ola here.

The PRO5 chief said the Naga City police force, headed by Police Sr. Supt. Edwin Nemenzo, will be increased by over 200 officers and men and a police mobile group.

The city police, the first urban police unit to be upgraded in Bicol region, was augmented by 97 new recruits by erstwhile PRO5 chief P/Senior Supt. Balligi Tira after holdupmen struck a Jollibee branch in the city late last year. (PRO5/PIA) [top]
