PNP thanks Aklanons for peaceful elections

Kalibo, Aklan (14 May) -- The Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) here, headed by Provincial Director Sr. Police Superintendent Epifanio Bragais, Jr. thanked the Aklanons for the conduct of a peaceful and orderly elections on May 10, 2010.
Bragais aired his "thank you" to Aklanons over a radio station here, saying no single untoward incident was reported in the province in the course of the conduct of the May 10 automated elections.
Days prior to the elections, the PNP deployed personnel to all polling centers in the province with a ratio of 1:1.
The provincial personnel of the PNP in Aklan, numbering 655, were also augmented by the regional office, which sent 104 personnel.
Besides guarding polling centers, the PNP also helped the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in the delivery of Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines before Election Day, and the delivery of official ballots on Election Day itself. (PIA) [top]
