Tagbilaran City (29 April) -- Going pro-active against the swine influenza scare and keeping people from any respiratory illness, the ASEAN Secretariat Working Group for One Health (ASEC-ONE Health) comes out with a ten-points tip.
"These are general precautionary measures in Asia to prevent any type of influenza or any respiratory illness now capable of spreading from person-to-person from hitting," the group explained. (+)
Asian delegates to learn from anti-rabies program

Tagbilaran City (6 February) -- Delegates from 3 Asian countries come here on February 11-12 to learn about the piloted province-wide anti-rabies drive.
The province is currently leading the way in implementing rabies prevention and eradication program in partnership with foreign donors and the active help of the national government. (+)
Philippines to host 5th Annual Southeast Asian Cinemas Conference

Cebu City (5 November) -- After the World Tourism Forum, ASEAN Meetings, and other international events, the spotlight will once again beam on the Philippines this month as it hosts the 5th Annual Southeast Asian Cinemas Conference on Nov. 20-22 at the Ateneo de Manila University.
Leading this year's roster of speakers is the Father of Independent Philippine Cinema, Kidlat Tahimik. Other filmmakers in the conference panels are Lav Diaz, Khavn de la Cruz, Jim Libiran and Brilliante Mendoza. (+)
