Foundation launches "Telecentre Women: Digital Literacy" campaign
Tacloban City (November 27) -- One of the highlights of the 6th Knowledge Exchange Center for Community eCenters which was held on November 24 to 25, 2010 at the Cabu Parklane International Hotel, was the launching of the "Telecentre Women: Digital Literacy Campaign," which aims to bring functional digital skills to women in grassroots communities.
The essence of the campaign is to meet the ICT needs of women in the different roles they play. (+)
Philippine CeC Roadmap for 2011-2016 turns CeC wheel to rural barangays
Tacloban City (November 27) -- After the successful implementation of the three-year roadmap which envisioned "A CeC in every Municipality," the Commission on Information and Communications Technology and the and the Philippine Community eCenter Network (PhilCeCNet) have come up with the Philippine Community eCenter Roadmap for 2011-2016 which expands the CeC vision by turning the CeC steering wheel to the rural barangays.
Secretary Ivan John E. Uy, Chairman of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology, made the pronouncement in his keynote message at the 6th Knowledge Exchange Center for Community eCenters which was held on November 24 to 25, 2010 at the Parklane International Hotel in Cebu City. CICT cites grand winners of 1st CeC Excellence Awards
Cebu City (November 26) -- The grand winners for the first Philippine Community eCenter Excellence Awards were cited on November 24, in a ceremony held at the Cebu Parklane International Hotel in Cebu City.
The first Philippine Community eCenter Excellence Awards has two categories, the Outstanding Community eCenter and the Outstanding Community eCenter Knowledge Worker. (+)
iSchools projects initiates sustainability planning workshop series in Bicol

Legaspi City (20 October) -- The iSchools Project, which distributes PCs to Philippine high schools, will be conducting a series of workshops to help beneficiaries manage their computer laboratories for the long term.
The first in a series of Sustainability Planning Workshops (SPW) will be held starting October 20, 2010 at Legaspi City, allowing participants to run their respective school computer labs once these are turned over by the Commission on Information and Communications Technology. (+)
iSchools latest information management system assists in monitoring school laboratories

Quezon City (20 October) -- A project that puts up net-enabled computer labs in Philippine high schools will soon teach beneficiaries to use a web-based application that will measure usage of their computer equipment.
This was announced by the iSchools Project, subsumed under the Commission on Information and Communications Technology, after it held its Midstream Planning Workshop conducted in Olongapo City last month. (+)
