Laguna PNP opens Facebook account for "Laguna's Most Wanted Criminals"
Bay, Laguna (20 August) -- P/Supt. Gilbert Cruz, Laguna Philippine National Police (PNP) Director announced the launching recently of Laguna's Most Wanted Criminals Facebook account.
Cruz said tapping the internet as a medium of communication will help speed up soling crimes. He also said that there is a big possibility of tracing criminals even if they are hiding in far away places or even abroad since criminals are also communicating through the internet. (+)
Cavite welcomes BPO-IT industry with Convergence 2009 launching
Trece Martires City (31 July) -- The Cavite Provincial Government headed by Governor Ayong Maliksi embarks in a new field to further Cavite's economic development as it welcomes the booming industry of Business Process Outsourcing and Information Technology in the country with the hosting of Convergence 2009 launching in the province on August 4-5 at the Provincial Capitol in Trece Martires City.
Convergence 2009, with the theme "Empowering the Filipino Through ICT", is an Information and Communications Technology Awareness Program across the country's "next wave cities" of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) together with the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPA/P) and the Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA). Convergence 2009 kicks off at Sta Rosa City, Laguna
Sta. Rosa City (10 July) -- An Information and Communication Technology road show dubbed as "Convergence 2009" will commence at Sta. Rosa City, Laguna on July 10-11, 2009.
The road show is aimed at pursuing the objectives of ICT development in the country along the four strategic areas: Cyberservices, Human Capital, eGovernment, and ICT Infrastructure, according to the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT). (+)
