NAMRIA implements RP-Japan map project for Mindanao
Koronadal City (18 August) -- The National Mapping and Resources Information Authority (NAMRIA), an attached agency of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), is implementing a digital topographic mapping project for Mindanao expected to bring about socio-economic and peace development in the region.
"The project is not only expected to result in socio-economic and peace development in the region but also serves as a commitment for the first 100 days of President Benigno S. Aquino III," DENR Secretary Ramon J.P. Paje said. (+)

Koronadal City (23 October) -- "Nalipay gid ako kay natagaan ako sang oportunidad nga makakaput sang computer", said Loreta Rotaquio in Ilonggo, a 57-year old Purok Secretary of Purok Kahilig, Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat.
Ever since she graduated from high school in 1967 at the Notre Dame of Dulawan in Maguindanao at the age of 15, Rotaquio never had the opportunity to set her hands on a computer. (+)
DOLE to hire 3,565 youth mentors for IT project
Koronadal City (9 October) -- Starting this month until December, the Department of Labor and Employment will be hiring 3,565 youth mentors for its Kabataan ITo special project to jumpstart a nationwide familiarization and appreciation sessions on information technology for Filipinos in the disadvantaged sectors.
Labor and Employment secretary Marianito D. Roque announced this yesterday after he received the reports of the National Reintegration Program for OFWs, the Bureau of Rural Workers and the Bureau of Women and Young Workers-all DOLE offices-about their preparation for the launching of the special project in the third week of October.
