Phoenix Hanceana Naud. Var. Philippinensis (Philippine Datepalm)
The Philippine date palm is locally known as "voiavoi" and belongs to the Palmae family. Its leaves are 1 meter long. It bears oblong-shaped fruits that turn black when mature. It thrives on grasslands and along low medium altitude mountain streams. The leaves are woven into raincoats, bags, hats, and baskets.
