PCSO National Photo Competition

PCSO photo competition deadline on August 15

Iloilo City (30 July) -- Interested photographers have until August 15 to submit their entries to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) national photo competition.

With the theme "Isang Pitik sa Charity", the contest is open to all professional and amateur photographers.

Contest entries must show the acts of kindness done by people from all walks of life to promote the institutional brand message "Spread the Charity Virus."

Those who wish to join must submit entry with 11" x 14" size, with or without borders and can be color and /or black and white. Photos which are digitally altered are not allowed as well as which have won national or international competitions. Also, low resolution images will be disqualified.

Each photo must be accompanied by an entry form that can be downloaded from the Philippine Information Agency's (PIA) website www.pia.gov.ph or PCSO's website www.pcso.gov.ph.

Information that include name, address and contact numbers of the photographer, title of the entry, category (Professional or Amateur), caption or brief description or background of the picture such as where and when it was taken, circumstances surrounding the taking of the pictures and other vital information should be printed on the entry form.

Participants can submit as many entries as the contest set no limit to the number of entries. However, all PCSO and PIA employees are not allowed to join the competition.

Each of the top three winners for both categories get P100,000 for the first prize, P50,000, second prize and P30,000, third prize while the 12 consolation prizes will receive P5,000 each.

Entries may be submitted to any of the PIA regional offices or at the Public Relations Department of the PCSO at Rodriguez Avenue, Quezon City at 5:00 p.m. of August 15, 2008. (PIA)
