LAGAWE, Ifugao, Jan. 4 (PIA) -- The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported zero cases of fire incidence for the past six months here and attributed such to the massive information campaign conducted in the different barangays and the schools.
FO1 Cecile Indopia, of the BFP in Kiangan said the BFP has doubled its efforts with the objectives of effecting a meaningful reduction in fire occurrences through fire safety and prevention campaign and to inculcate fire safety awareness involving people in every community.
The BFP also encouraged the cooperation among the government and private sectors in the campaign against occurrences of fires and other related accidents during the observance of the yuletide season, Indopia said.
The BFP advocates that fire prevention programs deals greatly on precautionary and fire safety measures to avoid the occurrence of fire and its adverse effect to the public and the community.
The measures are formulated and adopted to save billions worth of properties and loss of lives by fire incidents due to carelessness, negligence and lack of information dissemination and awareness. The destruction and deprivation of each year by fire outbreak have reached an alarming proportion to the economy and social gains of the society itself. (JDP/VDB- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
