Minda Romero of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office here said that to date they recorded the amount of P7,803,000 disbursed to the beneficiaries received as loans with a repayment rate of 95.77 percent or P6,890,831.03.

The municipality of Alfonso Lista has the highest number of members with 355, followed by Banaue with 305; Hingyon with 303; Kiangan with

230; Lagawe with 183 and Aguinaldo with 115.

The SEA-K was implemented in the province since the early 1990s which is the DSWD’s sustainable livelihood program originally intended for the marginalized women’s group but now also caters to men needing assistance.

It introduced the social responsibility component, which deals with the “roll-on” funding scheme or the transfer of capital from one client to another.

Apart from the provision of the seed fund, SEA-K also focuses on various skills and organizational development activities inculcating the concept and operation of an association ensuring that the organized groups sustain their livelihood activities.

Romero said that just last month, an addition of two groups composed of 30 individuals was organized.(JDP/DBC-PIA CAR,Ifugao)
