Gov expands committee for Ifugao General Hospital

by Mhars B Lihgawon

LAGAWE, Ifugao Jan. 11 (PIA) -- The provincial governor issued yesterday an Executive Order (EO) expanding the members of the Design and Build Committee (DBC) for the Ifugao General Hospital (IGH).

In his EO, Governor Eugene Balitang stated that the procurement of the contract for the design and build of the IGH is given utmost priority for completion. “There is a need to expand the DBC in order that the lacking technical professionals of the implementing office who will assist in the evaluation of the detailed engineering shall be supplemented,” Balitang said.

He clarified that the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) on Infrastructure has recommended the expansion of the DBC and the additional four members. The governor explained that the additional members shall primarily assist the provincial government in the evaluation of the detailed engineering requirements of the contract for the construction of the IGH phase one.

“The evaluation report shall be submitted to me thru the provincial engineer within seven days upon receipt of the designs and plans to be evaluated,” Balitang reiterated.

Earlier, the provincial government created the Design and Build Committee (DBC) to assist in the evaluation of the detailed engineering part of the design phase of the contract of the Ifugao General Hospital.

Engr.Jonathan Pahigon of the Provincial Engineering Office, who is in charge of civil works for health, said the construction of the IGH is a project of the provincial government to provide better health services to the people.

Pahigon said the project is a three-storey building occupying a two hectare area located above the Ifugao police office here. Targeted to be completed on June 29, 2012, the Ifugao General Hospital with estimated cost of P328 million will house all the services of a tertiary hospital.

The first floor will house the operating rooms, delivery complex, emergency room, and others while the second floor accommodates the hospital/clinical services. The third floor consists of private and semi private and administrative section.(JDP/MBL- PIA CAR,Ifugao)
