David CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Jan. 5 (PIA) -- Qualified voters have until October 21 this year to register so they can vote in the 2013 elections. Commission on Elections (COMELEC) regional director Atty. Zoilo Perlas said that one is qualified to vote if he is a Filipino citizen, at least 18 years old, has been a resident of the country for one year, and a resident of the area where he intends to vote for at least six months immediately preceding the election. An applicant may register in the municipal COMELEC office and should bring a valid ID. To verify his age, he will also be asked to show his birth certificate. For the verification of his address, billing statements should be presented. The municipal COMELEC offices will also accommodate those who wish to validate their registration records, apply for correction of entries and seek transfer of polling places. (RGSD PIA-3) |
