4 new chiefs head Bulacan offices

by Jose Mari M. Garcia

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan, Jan 14 (PIA) -– Four new chiefs have been newly installed to command different offices in the provincial government of Bulacan, vowing that their echelons will not make them boss but rather a “team player.”

After 18 years of heading the Office of Student Organizations in Bulacan State University (BulSU), Dr. Romeo Inasoria’s appointment as the new president of technical academe Bulacan Polytechnic College came as a surprise. He said that BulSU president Mariano De Jesus was kidding him when the former told him to preside over an institution.

“It was really unexpected. When Dr. De Jesus asked me if I wanted to be the president of an institution, I didn’t know that it was the Bulacan Polytechnic College,” said Inasoria.

He added that he will continue the “good things” the former admin did and will also be open to changes particularly in unifying faculty members.

“I will not be the boss here. I will be a team player,” said Inasoria.

The Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO) will be directed by Glenn Reyes, an engineer who, after serving 11 years as chief of staff of the district engineer in the Department of Public Works and Highway, vowed being “time committed and quality oriented” in leading his new office tasked to deliver infrastructure projects.

“What I could only promise to my coworkers here in PEO is that they will be proud in the end that they are here in PEO because they will be productive. I will help them to be the best they can be as a public servant,” said Reyes.

Meanwhile, Dr. Voltaire Basinang, the new head of the Provincial Veterinary Office, will focus on public health concerns by eradicating threats on livestock diseases.

A former veterinary officer in the Provincial Agriculture Office, Basinang said that his newly created office will ensure the safety of consumers while upholding the income of livestock owners.

Maria Perpetua Santos was inducted the new secretary to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) who will act as custodian of all SP law records among others.

“The secretariat is very important. Legislators come and go but the records are permanent. I want to reinforce the staff,” said Santos. (WLB/JMG-PIA 3)
