by Lito M. Giron

LUCENA CITY, Quezon, January 5 (PIA) -- The provincial government of Quezon will launch on January 9 the ‘Damayan at Serbisyong Publiko ng bawat Pisong Buwis Mo’ which aims to increase tax collection on real property in the province.

Cynthia Profeta, administrative officer of provincial treasurer’s office, said Quezon Governor David Suarez wants to increase tax collection of the province in order to use it in different development programs and improve delivery of social services to the people.

She added that, aside from augmenting tax collection, the municipal and barangay governments can have a chance to win cash prizes and various developmental projects. Also included to have a chance of winning are the schools participating in the project by encouraging parents of students and other persons to pay real property tax.
