Right person to manage OSCA depends on the mayor- PIO

ROSARIO, Cavite, January 12 (PIA) ---In an open letter published in a weekly newspaper here, Buddy G. Villacruz, Head of Rosario Public Information Office (PIO) and also Public Relations Officer of the Cavite Communicators Network (CCN) clarified that the right person to manage the Office of Senior Citizens Affair (OSCA) lies solely to the hands of Mayor Nonong Ricafrente.

Villacruz explained that OSCA is a government office and the management should handled by an appointee of the municipal mayor which at present is headed by Diosdado P Marzan.

The clarification was to settle minor disputes and solve the problem of overlapping of functions between the OSCA and Senior Citizens Federation (SCF) in the municipality wherein, OSCA and the SCF according to Villacruz are “two different separate and distinct offices.”

Villacruz also mentioned that some barangay senior citizens presidents in the municipality think that if they will get elected federation president, they are entitled to manage the OSCA.

He added that the present leadership of the OSCA “adheres in the strict implementation of the Rules and regulations embodied in the Philippine Civil Service Law.”

Villacruz concluded that the incumbent OSCA head is bound to instill Transparency, Integrity, Responsibility and Accountability ()TIRA) and promote the interest and welfare of the senior citizens by giving them quick and fast services without any delay. (Ruel Francisco, PIA-Cavite)
