Red Cross-Ifugao receives goods, materials for typhoon victims

by Vency D. Bulayungan

LAGAWE, Ifugao,Jan. 6 (PIA) -- The Philippine Red Cross (PRC)here received today additional goods and materials to be distributed to the more than 2,000 victims of typhoons Pedring and Quiel in the province.

PRC –Lagawe head Randy Blanco said in an interview in the daily program “Humangan with PIA” that the materials are in the form of blankets, plastic mats and drinking jars. There are also goods to be distributed to the identified victims with partially and totally damaged houses.

Blanco advised concerned local government units to get said materials and goods from the PRC office here and to schedule the distribution for the PRC to supervise and monitor so that the said goods will reach the right beneficiaries.

It can be recalled that Ifugao was the worst hit province in the Cordillera region by successive typhoons Pedring and Quiel last year. Some towns were left isolated for days when the Burnay bridge here collapsed at the height of typhoon Pedring.

Meanwhile, Blanco invited interested participants to participate in a training on Standard First Aid in Basic Life Support on January 16-21 at their office at the third floor Engineering Building at the capitol compound. (VDB PIA CAR, Ifugao)
