Lagawe PNP revives campaign on colorum vehicles

LAGAWE, Ifugao, Jan. 12 (PIA) -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) here has revived its campaign on colorum vehicles plying the municipality to ensure the safety of commuters as well as motorists.

Chief of Police Senior Inspector Aquino Bayangan said that deputized members of the PNP with the assistance of the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) of the municipal government had conducted a mobile check point last Monday.

“Our personnel conducted inspection and verification of pertinent papers of motor vehicles that include registration papers, licenses and helmets of drivers for their safety also,” he said.

Bayangan disclosed that during the operation, the PNP issued nine temporary operators permit (TOP) and five traffic citation ticket (CTC) for various violations.

He also informed that their office heightened the implementation of the municipal transport code to address the traffic problem of this capital town especially during day time.

“We had started also the implementation of the transport code of the municipality wherein tricycles from other neighboring municipalities will park and wait passengers in their respective boundaries,” Bayangan explained.

He assured that whatever problems that arise in the implementation of the transport code will be addressed properly by concerned offices. (JDP/MBL - PIA CAR,Ifugao)
