Lamut grants incentives to retiring daycare workersby Mhars B Lihgawon
LAMUT, Ifugao, Jan. 12 (PIA) -- Local officials here recently approved an ordinance granting cash incentives and recognition to day care workers who opt to be separated from the service upon reaching the minimum age of 60 and after rendering a minimum 10 years of satisfactory performance.
Known as “Computed Terms Benefits of Day Care Workers Ordinance", it aims to extend benefits and encourage day care workers to remain faithful in their career for a better education input and to leave a legacy for them.
The ordinance also provides that a cash of P10,000 will be given to DCWs who rendered 10 - 14 years of service and P15,000 for 15 years and above in service. Aside from the cash incentive, a plague of recognition shall be awarded to them by the local government unit (LGU).
An initial amount of P30,000 as gratuity fund shall be drawn from the DCW Development Assistance Program of the social services. This shall be included in the annual appropriations and budget as part of the annual development program.
To ensure the successful implementation of this ordinance, the Day Care Association of Lamut, a duly accredited association, is tasked to implement the fund benefit to its members in accordance with its constitution and by-laws.
The benefit assistance program committee shall oversee the smooth implementation of the fund benefit of day care workers. (MBL - PIA CAR,Ifugao)
