Lagawe LGU releases guidelines on wearing of uniforms

by Mhars B Lihgawon

LAGAWE, Ifugao, Jan. 18 (PIA) -- To maintain professionalism in the office, the local government unit (LGU) here has issued guidelines on wearing office uniforms for strict implementation in the different departments.

In his memorandum, Mayor Ceasario Cabbigat said the guideline is a way of implementing the Civil Service Commission (CSC) circulars on proper grooming of office employees when serving the public.

Cabbigat stated that the prescribed office uniforms shall be worn three days a week, from Mondays to Wednesdays. Civilian attire can be worn during Thursdays and Fridays. The municipal employees have earlier agreed on which set of uniforms to wear for Mondays to Wednesdays.

The mayor also reiterated that under CSC memo-circular, female employees should avoid wearing shorts, tight fitting clothes and seductive, flimsy, transparent dresses including too much make-up and jewelries except special occasions while shorts, sandos, sleeveless and jogging pants should be avoided by men employees.

A fine of P50 per violation would be imposed to any employee who is not wearing the proper uniform and office ID cards at all times during office hours. (JDP/MBL – PIA CAR,Ifugao)
