Ifugao LGU creates public financial management teamLAGAWE, Ifugao,Jan. 19 (PIA) -- Governor Eugene Balitang said one of the goals of the Provincial Local Government Unit(PLGU) is to have a Public Financial Management (PFM) anchored on principled governance and characterized by a budget based on approved plans, increased revenues, effective and efficient procurement system, functional internal audit system, strengthened monitoring and evaluation system and operational management system implemented by competent and committed human resources.
“To be able to attain the goal, there is a need to create a PFM team composed of personnel from the different offices of the provincial government tasked to prepare public financial management plans and ensure its implementation,” Balitang said.
The PFM team is composed of the following: Provincial Budget Officer Virginia Farro as leader and the members are: Provincial Planning and Development Officer Carmelita Buyuccan; OIC-Provincial AccountanCharles Baguilat, Provincial Treasurer Samuel Marina; General Services Officer Janet Sambrano, and Provincial Administrator Guillermo Tadao.
The team will have the following functions: prepare the PFM plans of the PLGU; oversee the implementation of the PFM plans; prepare periodic PFM report for management and higher authorities and inform top management of its findings, recommendations, and actions taken to improve fiscal management.
