“The focus of early education (Kinder to Grade 2) should be the fundamental skills and literacy of the pupils to develop better comprehension for more complicated subjects such as science,” added Luistro. (+)
Single ticketing system scheme approved – MMDA QUEZON CITY, Jan. 28 (PIA) – Traffic enforcers will soon issue uniform traffic tickets and charge standard rates for traffic violations in Metro Manila. The Metro Manila Council (MMC)--the governing body of the Metro Manila Development Authority--approved last Thursday the implementation of a uniform or single ticketing system.
This was announced yesterday by Atty. Alu Dorotan, spokesperson of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) during the Communication and News Exchange Forum (CNEX). (+)

This morning, President Aquino presided over the launch of the Philippine Business Registry System (PBRS), which seeks to integrate the services of all agencies involved in registering a business, including the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), SSS, Pag-IBIG Fund, and Philhealth. The PBRS provides a one-stop-shop, whether online or at a single office: A process that once would have taken days, could now be accomplished in a matter of minutes. (+)
ASEAN news: First Argentinean Ambassador Presents Credentials to ASEAN Secretary-General MANILA, Jan. 27 -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Argentina to ASEAN H.E. Mr. Javier A. Sanz de Urquiza, presented his Letter of Credence to the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr Surin Pitsuwan, at the ASEAN Secretariat, Wednesday.
Ambassador Sanz de Urquiza expressed his gratitude to ASEAN and its Member States for accepting him as the first Ambassador of Argentina to ASEAN. He expressed his intention to promote more ASEAN awareness in the Latin American continent, especially in Argentina.
