Tagalog News: Isang batalyong sundalo, nagbabantay sa pista ng Itim na Nazareno

QUEZON CITY, Enero 9 (PIA) –- Habang patuloy na iniikot ang replika ng Itim na Nazareno patungo sa simbahan ng Quiapo ngayong araw, patuloy din ang may isang batalyong sundalo ng Philippine Army sa pagbabantay sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng Maynila.

Ayon kay Major Harold Cabunoc, tagapagsalita ng Philippine Army, 500 sundalo ang kanilang ipinakalat upang masiguro ang kaligtasan ng mga deboto maging ang publiko.

Idinagdag pa ni Cabunoc na ang mga itinalagang sundalo ay katuwang ng mga pulis upang masiguro ang kaayusan at seguridad ng lahat.

Kahapon, nagbigay babala si Pangulong Aquino kaugnay ng posibleng banta ng terorismo.

“Karamihan sa ating mga sundalo ay walang mga dalang matataas na kalibre ng armas dahil ang kanilang pangunahing gawain ay panatilihin ang kaayusan,” wika ni Cabunoc.

Idinagdag pa ng tagapagsalita ng Philippine Army na naatasan din ang mga sundalo na inspeksyunin ang mga kahina-hinalang kagamitan gamit ang mga K-9 dogs.

Nagtalaga rin ang Philippine Army ng isang pangkat ng explosive experts.

Samantala, nanawagan naman si Cabunoc sa mga deboto para sa mapayapa at matiwasay na pagdiriwang ng pista ng Itim na Nazareno kasabay ng kanyang pagbibigay seguridad na patuloy ang Hukbong Sandatahan na magiging kaagapay ng mamamayan tungo sa kapayapaan.(PA/RJB/JEG-PIA NCR)
