Tagalog news: Nationwide E-trike design contest, inilunsad ng DOE

QUEZON CITY, Jan. 18 (PIA) -- Naghahanap ang Department of Energy (DOE) ng pinaka-praktikal at pinaka-pakikinabangang disenyo ng electric tricycle o "E-trike" sa pambansang patimpalak na inilunsad ng ahensya nitong Miyerkules.

Sa programang CNEX Forum na ginanap sa Philippine Information Agency, sinabi ni DOE Sec. Rene Almendras na layon ng kanilang "Best Philippine E-trike Design Contest" na matukoy ang pinakamahusay na disenyo ng e-trike na aakma sa pang-araw-araw na pangangailangan ng mga Pilipinong naninirahan hindi lamang sa mga siyudad kung hindi maging sa mga lalawigan.

Ani Almendras, maaring mula sa mapipiling disenyo ibabatay ang makabagong E-trike na balak ipakalat ng administrasyong Aquino sa iba't-ibang panig ng bansa kaugnay ng E-trike project nito, bilang tugon na rin sa hindi mapigilang pagtaas sa presyo ng mga produktong petrolyo.

Sa taya ng DOE, may 2.5 milyong tricycle ang pumapasada sa bansa na bukod sa kumukonsumo ng gasolina ay nakadaragdag din sa polusyon ng ingay at hangin.

Bukas ang patimpalak sa lahat ng Pilipino edad 18 pataas, indibidwal man o grupo at kasalukuyang naninirahan sa bansa.

Ang ide-disenyong E-trike ay kailangang tatlo ang gulong at kayang maglulan ng hanggang anim na pasahero na hindi kasama ang drayber. Dapat din daw na naka-render ang "computer aided design" o "CAD" nito sa 2D o 3D na disenyo. Ang huling tatlong mapipiling design ay tatanggap ng hanggang P200,000.

Maaari namang makakuha ng official entry form at detalyadong contest mechanics sa mga website ng Department of Energy (www.doe.gov.ph) at ng Philippine Information Agency (www.pia.gov.ph). (RJB/JCP-PIA NCR)
