UST to unveil art exhibit for a cause on January 20

MANILA, Jan. 20 (PIA) -- The Royal and Pontifical University of Santo Tomas will unveil today, January 20 the “400 Shots to Immortality,” an art exhibit featuring never-been-seen pictures of the 400-year-old university.

In a release by Youth Pinoy, the exhibit will feature various photos of student-photographer Paul Quiambao. The art exhibit is one of the activities in line with the university’s Neo-Centennial celebration.

The UST’s Neo-Centennial celebration followed the university’s year-long Quadricentennial festivities held last year. The celebration also marks the welcoming of the next centenary for the institution that produced countless national heroes and leaders.

Aside from the getting a glimpse of the rare photos, visitors can also buy limited featured photographs wherein a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the victims of typhoon “Sendong” as well as to the Aeta communities in Tarlac supported by the UST.

The exhibit will run from January 20 to February 10 at the UST Museum of Arts and Sciences Gallery and the lobby of the UST Main Building, which was declared a National Landmark by the National Museum.

Aside from the photo exhibit, the UST’s Neo-Centennial celebration will be highlighted with a thanksgiving Mass and the blessing of the grounds of the New Hospital Building on Monday, January 23 and other activities until January 27. (CBCP/RJB/JEG-PIA-NCR)
