Tagalog News: ISO certification target ng PNP

QUEZON CITY, Jan. 24 (PIA) -- Target ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na makamit ang International Organization for Standardization (ISO 9001:2000) Quality Management Systems, ayon sa isang mataas na opisyal ng PNP nitong Martes.

Sa programang Talking Points na ginanap sa Philippine Information Agency, sinabi ni PNP Spokesperson Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr. na layon ng kanilang buong ahensya na makakuha ng ISO certification upang matiyak na naaayon sa international standards ang mga serbisyong ipinagkakaloob nito sa taumbayan.

"Ang atin pong Philippine National Police ay nag-aim po ng ISO certification so kailangan pong maging global ang ating mga standard," ayon kay Cruz.

Nauna nang ipinatupad ng Pangulong Benigno S. Aquino III ang Executive Order (EO) No. 605 na nag-uutos sa lahat ng kagawaran at ahensya ng ehekutibong sangay ng pamahalaan at maging ng lahat ng government-owned and/or controlled corporations (GOCCs) at government financial institutions (GFI’s) na i-adopt ang ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems.

Aniya, bagama't nakakuha na ng ISO certification ang ilang mga tanggapan ng PNP kabilang na ang Office of Chief PNP, Civil Security Group, PNP Crime Lab at PNP Fire Arms and Explossives Division, patuloy pa rin ang iba pa nilang opisina para makapasa sa pandaigdigang pamantayan.

Sinabi pa ni Cruz na bahagi rin ito ng repormang ipinatutupad ng PNP upang maging higit na "competetive" ang kanilang ahensya kumpara sa iba pang mga organisasyon ng pulis sa buong mundo.

Kaugnay nito, sinimulan na rin daw nilang ayusin ang kanilang recruitment process kung saan mas pinahahalagahan na ngayon ang "commitment," kalusugan sa pag-iisip at moralidad kaysa sa pisikal lamang na kakayahan. (RJB/JCP-PIA NCR)
