PIA Press Release Tuesday, January 10, 2012Australia to hold expo in NegOccBACOLOD CITY, Jan. 10 (PIA6) -- Januario John Rivas of the Philippine Consulate to Australia called on Neg.Occ. Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. recently to discuss preparations for a Trade and Tourism Expo to be held in Negros Occidental in March, a press release from Capitol said. The expo is expected to bring tour operators from Australia to the Philippines and serve as an avenue for the hiring of Negrense skilled workers and the promotion of study-migrate and tourism and retirement programs. Rivas said Australia is outsourcing about 4.8 million skilled workforce from various countries including the Philippines. Gov. Marañon expressed interest in the study-migrate program of Australia, and plans to provide scholarship programs to interested Negrense graduates provided they pass the qualification standards, the press release said.
