Free call center training up at NOLITC

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Jan. 13 (PIA6) -- Seventeen aspiring call center agents completed their 100-hour free call center training at the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC) in Bacolod City.

The provincial government of Negros Occidental and the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) funded the scholarship.

Jose Ma. Valencia, who represented the governor in the 2nd culmination ceremony, told the graduates that the training center is a priority program of the present administration and the legacy program of the late Governor Joseph Marañon.

Valencia challenged the Batch 3 graduates to do their best in their future work, be dedicated and help their families.

Japhet Masculino, economic enterprises development department head, stressed that NOLITC is part of the province’s priority agenda on education, giving importance to the out-of-school youth and the unemployed.

Johanna Ochia, a former overseas Filipino worker, said the scholarship made a great difference in her life. “Now, I have the confidence to apply for work, in call centers, the only workplace with no age discrimination,” Ochia added.

Shiela Babiera, in her testimony, was very thankful to the governor and officials of the province for the scholarship that empowered them to develop their skills and improve their self-confidence.

The NOLITC continues to accept applicants for the free call center training. (NOLITC/CAD/JCM/PIA6)
