Kalibo SB addresses need for infra to support booming economic activities

by Venus G. Villanueva

KALIBO, Aklan, Jan. 15 (PIA) -- The Sangguniang Bayan of Kalibo recently approved a resolution authorizing Mayor Wiliam Lachica to sign documents on loan sourcing for the purchase/ownership or rental of a lot to be used for transport terminal, waste material recovery facility and cemetery in the municipality.

This, according to the Kalibo SB, is due to the increasing influx of tourists and investors in Kalibo which need to have comfortable facilities and basic services.

This week, Kalibo is hosting thousands of local and foreign tourists as it celebrates the world-famous Kalibo Stop. Nino Ati-atihan Festival.

Kalibo SB members added one of the major visions of Mayor Lachica is the construction of transport terminals, waste material facility and other infrastructures for the efficient operation of its economic enterprise and public facilities to serve the public better.

The establishment of these facilities, the SB members emphasized, will also contribute to the progress of the town.

The full implementation of the projects, according to the SB needs a big amount of money, thus, sufficient funds are much needed to put this vision of Mayor Lachica into a reality. (JCM/VGV PIA 6 Aklan)
