ANTECO announces load shedding of power supply

SAN JOSE, Antique Jan. 26 (PIA) -- In line with the continuous upgrading of the power system, the Antique Electric Cooperative (ANTECO) has announced that effective January 28, 5:00am to January 30, 8:00am, they will de-energized the 138KV Dingle-Bacolod transmission line.

Relative to this the following activities will be undertaken; retiring of the existing and installation of new line protection system for 138KV Bacolod-Barotac Viejo transmission line (Bacolod side) ; relay simulation, end to end testing, teleprotection/ transfer trip simulation of the new Line Protection System (Bacolo9d and Barotac Viejo side) ; retiring of the existing and installation of new disconnect switches with earthing switch at San Juan CTS including functional testing and integration to MBSC system at Barotac Viejo s/s; tapping and busworks from San Juan CTS to Bay 7-03 of Barotac Viejo s/s.

In this regard, Panay will be on Islanding Operation for the duration of the final configuration activities at Dingle Substation, Bacolod Substation and newly completed Barotac Substation.

For the duration of the above activities, manual load shedding may be implemented in case power supply for Panay Island will be insufficient.

The consumers are hereby informed by ANTECO to prepare for any eventuality so they can take the necessary precautionary measures. (ANTECO/ MLG/ JCM/PIA6-Antique)
