500 poor families get 'bags of blessing'BACOLOD CITY, Jan. 31 (PIA6) -- Five hundred poor families from various barangays in Bacolod City recently received food packages from the “Bags of Blessing” project of the Metrobank in partnership with some government institutions.
Each family received a food package worth P1,000 consisting of rice, canned goods, milk, coffee, sugar, noodles, and a snack pack for children.
The distribution of food packages in Bacolod was supported by the Bacolod Police Office and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, which identified the beneficiaries using the National Household Targeting System.
Now on its second year, the Bags of Blessing program aims to help underprivileged Filipino families augment their basic needs through food packages.
Assisting in the distribution were employees and staff of the 10 branches of said bank here.*(Metrobank/JSC/CD-PIA6 Negros Occ.)
