500 poor families get 'bags of blessing' |
BACOLOD CITY, Jan. 31 (PIA6) -- Five hundred poor families from various barangays in Bacolod City recently received food packages from the “Bags of Blessing” project of the Metrobank in partnership with some government institutions. Each family received a food package worth P1,000 consisting of rice, canned goods, milk, coffee, sugar, noodles, and a snack pack for children. (+) | Aklan detainees trained on proper waste management KALIBO, Aklan, January 31 (PIA) -- Inmates of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Aklan were oriented recently on the importance of proper waste management through an orientation/seminar on Ecological Solid Waste Management conducted by the local government of Kalibo. A report released by Kalibo’s Public Affairs, Information and Community Development (PAICD) bared that the orientation/seminar, conducted by the Municipal Solid Waste Management Services, aimed to educate the detainees and the personnel of the BJMP on proper waste management, which they could impart in turn to their families.
