Cebuano news: ‘Tetanus Watch’ gideklarar sa DOH

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, Jan. 04 (PIA) -- Gideklarar pagbalik sa Department of Health (DOH) ang "Tetanus Watch" tungod sa padayong pagsaka sa gidaghanon sa mga nabiktima sa paboto ug naigo sa saag nga bala sa pagsugat ug mismong adlaw sa Bag ong Tuig.

Sa pinakaulahing talaan sa DOH, misaka na ngadto sa 854 ang natalang biktima sa pabuto.

Ang 823 niini ang nabiktima sa legal nga paboto samtang 26 ang naigo sa saag nga bala ug lima ang nakatulon og pulbura sa paboto.

Duha na ang natalang namatay ug pinakaulahi ang upat ka buwang masuso nga aksidenteng naigo sa boga o PVC pipe sa iyang 6-anyos nga igsuon sa Bacolod.

Giangkon sa DOH dili kaayo epektibo ang ilang kampanya batok sa paboto.

Tungod niini, giduso sa ahensiya ang pagrebisa sa Republic Act (RA) 7183 o Firecracker Law.

Gihingusgan na usab sa DOH ang pakig-alayon sa nagkalain-laing ahensiya sa gobyerno sama sa Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ug sa mga lokal nga kagamhanan.

Samtang nanawagan usab ang DOH sa mga nabiktima sa paboto nga magpadapat og "anti- tetanus" aron malikayan ang impeksyon. (Elvira Bongosia/PIA-Bohol)
