PIA Press Release Monday, January 30, 2012Health programs under PNoy, more felt by LGUs- DavNor Gov del RosarioDAVAO CITY Jan 30 (PIA)-- Health development programs is now more felt by local government units under the administration of President Benigno Aquino, this according to Davao del Norte Governor Rodolfo del Rosario.The Governor said presently the budget for health programs particularly in the rehabilitation and development of provincial and district hospitals now passes through the local government. According to del Rosario, past allocations went straight to regional level and the implementation of these projects were made without the knowledge of the provincial government thus were not felt. “Parang ngayon lang nakatikim na dumaan sa LGU ang budget” (It is only now that we experienced that the budget has passed through the LGU), Del Rosario said. It is only now under the administration of President Aquino that these things have been done he added. According to the Del Rosario the national government has downloaded P78-million for the rehabilitation of the three district hospitals in the province; namely the Carmen District Hospital, Samal District Hospital and the Kapalong District Hospital. Another P250-million was also released for the modern cancer center based in the Tagum City-based Davao Regional Hospital. As for the rehabilitation of the district hospitals, Governor del Rosario said that they are planning to expand the district hospitals, 25 bed hospitals can be added to become 50 bed hospitals while existing 50 bed hospitals would be expanded to 75 bed facilities.
