ATCPDE partners with NADAC
for stronger drive vs drugs

Quezon City -- The ASEAN Training Center for Preventive Education (ATCPDE) has partnered with the Navotas Anti-Drug Abuse Council (NADAC) to strengthen the council's capacity to implement anti-drug programs in the community.

ATCPDE Director Dr Evangeline M. Zalamea of the UP College of Education said that a three-day seminar workshop scheduled for December 7-9, 2010 in Antipolo has been designed in consultation with the Navotas council.

The seminar-workshop will feature on the first day a brief "Drug Situationer" from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), a presentation on "Government Efforts in Drug Prevention" by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), and an enumeration of the "Legal Basis, Structure, and Functions of ADAC" by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). The afternoon will cover a lecture on "Group Dynamics, Team Building, and Decision Making" by Dr. Leticia Penano-Ho of UP, and a "Planning and Needs Assessment" talk by UP Prof. Francis Grace Duka-Pante.

Dr. Rosanelia Y. Yangco of UP serves as officer-of-the-day for December 7.

Day two will continue with a talk on "Facilitating Skills" by UP Prof. Lorelei R. Vinluan, a lecture on "Action Planning and Monitoring" by Dr. Rodolfo S. Treyes of UP-NISMED, an afternoon "Action Planning and Workshop" and an accompanying session on "Presentation, Critiquing, and Revision of Action Plans."

Day Two officer-of-the-day is Dr. Evangeline M. Zalamea.

Day Three will continue with a session on "Evaluation and Integration of Outputs" while the afternoon will feature the closing program for the three-day activity.

Day Three officer-of-the-day is Dr. Catalina S. Salazar of UP.

Some 30 council members are expected to attend.
