Manila remembers "Giliw Ko" restoration with NFSA help

On the occasion of the celebration of this year's World Day for Audiovisual Heritage, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) remembers with fondness the restoration of "Giliw Ko", a 1939 black and white Filipino movie starring Fernando Poe Sr.

The movie was restored in at National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) by PIA technicians with much assistance from the NFSA team headed by Mick Newnham, who is currently the president of the South East Asia Pacific Audio Visual Archive Association (SEAPAVAA). A documentary on the restoration work was uploaded to Youtube on October 26, 2009.
