British tweets #saveoursounds for WDAVH

The British Library Sound Archive is celebrating this year's WDAVH theme with tweets about preserved 'star items' at #saveoursounds, according to Paul Carr, metadata support officer.

The ongoing tweets are part of the Save our Sounds programme to preserve parts of the collection which are under threat from both physical degradation and the playback technology which will in time become obsolete, he said.

Paul, who co-manages the Twitter account @blsoundheritage with Adam Tovell, said the preservation of the 'star items' were undertaken by the Archive's engineers and metadata specialists.
